Do you ever feel anxious, mentally scattered, or low on energy and wish you had a simple way to reset? Your breath is always with you, and a few minutes of intentional breathing may help support relaxation, focus, emotional regulation, and energy throughout your day.
That is why we created a new guided breathwork app for Kimball Botanicals. It offers a focused, approachable way to choose the breathing exercise that matches how you want to feel: without complicated menus, endless content libraries, or unnecessary distractions.

A simpler way to practice breathwork
Breathwork is the intentional use of breathing patterns to influence your physical and mental state. By changing the pace, depth, and rhythm of your breath, you can create a gentle pause between how you feel and how you respond.
Slow, steady breathing may help support the parasympathetic nervous system: often called the bodyβs βrest and digestβ response. More energizing patterns can help you feel alert and ready to engage. The goal is not to force your breath, but to use it as a steady anchor while you nurture greater harmony in your day.
Many breathwork apps offer dozens of techniques, lengthy courses, complicated menus, and expensive subscriptions. While that may suit some people, it can also make a simple wellness practice feel overwhelming.
We intentionally took a different approach:
- Choose how you want to feel.
- Select a session length.
- Follow the breathing cues.
- Return to your day feeling more grounded.
No endless scrolling. No need to research which exercise to try first. Just a clear path to a few mindful minutes.
Five guided breathing modes for everyday needs
The app currently includes five guided breathwork modes. Each one is designed for a particular intention, with clear cues and adjustable timing to make your practice easy to follow.
1. Ease Anxiety
When your thoughts feel busy or your body feels tense, a slower breathing rhythm may help you settle. The Ease Anxiety mode emphasizes longer exhales, inviting you to release each breath gently rather than rushing to the next one.
You can use this mode when you are:
- Feeling stressed or emotionally overwhelmed
- Transitioning between tasks
- Preparing for a difficult conversation
- Looking for a calming pause during the day
Breathwork is not a treatment for anxiety disorders, but it can be a supportive self-care practice. If focusing on your breath makes you feel more anxious, simply stop and return to comfortable, natural breathing.
2. Find Energy
Do you need a clear reset in the morning or during an afternoon slump? Find Energy uses an even rhythm to help you reconnect with your breath and bring fresh attention to the present moment.
This mode may fit well before:
- Starting your workday
- Exercising or stretching
- Beginning a creative project
- Returning to a task after a break
The experience is designed to feel refreshing rather than intense. You should never strain, over-breathe, or push beyond what feels comfortable.
3. Feel Calm
The Calm mode offers a balanced breathing rhythm to help slow the pace of your day. It can be a wholesome choice when you want to soften mental tension, relax your shoulders, and create a little more space before resting.
Try it:
- Before bedtime
- After a busy commute
- During a quiet evening routine
- Whenever you want to soothe a restless mind
You can practice while seated comfortably, with your feet supported and your shoulders relaxed. Even a short session can give you an intentional moment to pause.

4. Box Breathing
Box breathing uses four equal parts:
- Inhale
- Pause
- Exhale
- Pause
Each part follows the same count, creating a steady, predictable rhythm. This structure can provide a useful point of focus when your attention feels scattered, helping you stay connected to the present moment.
As you practice, keep each pause comfortable. You do not need to hold your breath for longer than feels natural, and you should stop if you experience dizziness, chest tightness, discomfort, or significant air hunger.
If you are new to breathwork, begin with a short session and a gentle pace. You can always adjust the timing as you learn what supports your body best.
5. Breath of Fire
Breath of Fire is a short, energizing advanced practice traditionally associated with certain yoga and pranayama techniques. It uses a faster rhythmic pattern than the appβs calming modes and may feel stimulating.
Because this technique is more intense, approach it thoughtfully. It is not the best starting point if you are currently panicked, lightheaded, highly anxious, or sensitive to rapid breathing.
For your safety, avoid advanced breathwork or consult a qualified healthcare professional first if you are pregnant or have a cardiovascular condition, respiratory condition, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or another medical concern. Never practice rapid or stimulating breathwork while driving, in water, or anywhere you need to remain fully alert to your surroundings.
Choose the session length that suits you
Your wellness routine does not need to take an hour. The app currently offers three simple session lengths:
- 3 minutes for a quick reset
- 5 minutes for a more settled practice
- 10 minutes when you have time to go deeper
A three-minute session can fit between meetings, before you pick up your phone in the morning, or while you wait for dinner to cook. A five- or ten-minute session may feel right when you want to create a more spacious transition into sleep, work, or personal time.
The most beneficial routine is one you can comfortably return to. Start with the length that feels realistic for your schedule, then build consistency at your own pace.
Designed to keep your attention on your breath
We kept the app interface intentionally simple. Instead of presenting you with a crowded library, it helps you make one clear choice and begin.
The guided experience includes:
- Straightforward breathing cues
- Adjustable session timing
- Five clearly defined modes
- A distraction-light interface
- Options for short or longer practices
- A calm visual rhythm to help you follow along
You do not need previous breathwork experience. You can sit in a chair, rest on a cushion, or practice wherever you can pause safely and comfortably.

How to begin your first session
Starting is easy:
- Visit the guided breathwork app.
- Choose the mode that best matches your current needs.
- Select a three-, five-, or ten-minute session.
- Sit comfortably and soften your shoulders.
- Follow the cues without forcing the inhale, pause, or exhale.
- When the session ends, notice how you feel before returning to your next activity.
If you are unsure which mode to choose, begin with Feel Calm or Box Breathing at the shortest session length. These structured options can help you become familiar with guided breathing before exploring more stimulating practices.
Add it to your home screen
The direct web link is still the main way to access the app, but you can also add it to your deviceβs home screen for a smooth, app-like experience. This lets you launch it with one tap, much like a native app.
- On iPhone with Safari: Open the app link, tap the Share button, then choose Add to Home Screen.
- On Android with Chrome: Open the app link, tap the three-dot menu, then choose Add to Home screen or Install app.

A growing tool shaped by your feedback
This first version is only the beginning. We are continuing to refine the app through real-world testing and feedback from people who want a more approachable way to practice breathwork.
Features already included in the app include:
- Guided voice instructions
- Music options
- Vibration feedback on Android devices
- Dark mode
- Saved preferences
- Additional refinements based on how you use the app
As a family-owned wellness business, we care about creating tools that feel genuinely useful: not adding features simply to make an app feel bigger. Our intention is to offer practical support that fits naturally into your routine, just as we do with our carefully crafted herbal products.
A gentle safety reminder
Breathwork should feel supportive, not forceful. Always breathe within your comfort level and stop if you feel pain, severe dizziness, faintness, chest discomfort, or unusual shortness of breath.
This app is for general wellness and educational purposes. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are pregnant, have a heart or lung condition, experience frequent panic attacks, or have another health concern, speak with your healthcare professional before trying breath holds or rapid breathing practices.
Explore a calmer rhythm
Whether you want to ease anxiety, find energy, support focus, or create a calmer transition into rest, your breath can offer a simple place to begin. We invite you to explore the app, start with just three minutes, and discover which rhythm feels most nourishing for you.
Try the simple guided breathwork app and let us know what you think. Your feedback will help us nurture the next stage of this project and create an even more supportive experience for our community.
